Strzelecki Ranges Community Enterprises Ltd (SRCEL) is the franchisee of Community Bank Mirboo North & District. SRCEL is a social enterprise run by the community, for the community, and distributes close to 80% of its profits back to communities of the surrounding district.
Our community funding programs have returned over $2.3 million to local community groups and organisations. We’ve funded meaningful and impactful projects across the local area and strengthened community connections in the process.
We’re focused on significantly investing in purposeful projects over the coming years.
We’re so pleased you’re interested in our community funding programs. We’d love you to apply and contribute towards our thriving local community.
We know successful communities mean successful businesses and we’re all about our region thriving, so everyone benefits.
We’re focused on developing partnerships with local community organisations to leverage our funding sources and ensure we’re a key community asset for all.
However, we need you! Operating banking services is what we do best and while we can enable your project, we need your community group to deliver it.
Community banking is a ‘profit-for-purpose’ model, meaning profits are returned directly to the community that has generated them. In our case, the beautiful towns of Mirboo North, Boolarra and Yinnar and their surrounding district.
Community banking is designed to feed a positive cycle of good business, community and giving back.
To run successful community funding programs and return as much as possible, we first need to run a successful business. That’s why it’s important customers bank with us in the first instance.
Our community funding is made possible by the profits generated from banking services provided at our branch in Mirboo North.
Community Bank Mirboo North & District offers the following funding opportunities:

Strategic Partnerships are recognised as major sponsorship opportunities within our region as a partnership that gains additional value through marketing opportunities, relationship importance, a cash outlay and more.
We sponsor events, projects or organisations through the provision of money, goods or services in return for customer acquisition opportunities and brand recognition.
These partnerships are usually a multi-year sponsorship contract with special conditions resulting from discussions with the participating organisation.
If you feel your organisation would like to enter into a Strategic Partnership arrangement, please contact our Executive Officer, Anne Marie Dieperink on srcel1@bigpond.com before applying.
The Mirboo North & District Community Bank offers scholarships to support recent secondary school graduates from our district who are needing to relocate to attend university.
These scholarships are administered by the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation under their Education Support Fund. You can apply directly to the Foundation via their website. Applications open yearly around August.
Currently, 4 “Community Bank” scholarships are offered, each for a value of $6,000 (paid over 2 years).
The Community Chest exists to support a social or community need that may not fit into standard guidelines. These donations do not expect a reciprocal action on behalf of the recipient.
Furthermore, the recipient does not need to be a community organisation. It could be an individual in dire need of some assistance. Submissions to access Community Chest funding to individuals will typically be made through another individual who has become aware of a need for support.
This need is typically of unexpected nature and presents an emergency situation (e.g. someone’s house has burnt down).
If you want to apply for Community Chest funding, please contact our Executive Officer on the details below for eligibility and to obtain a form.
